It is a truth universally acknowledged by women of all ages, that the older a man is, the better he is in bed.

And by older, I mean more experienced. Having taken 17 years off from having sex with anyone new gives me an interesting opportunity to assess the truth of this universal.

1. Kissing
The best kiss I ever had was when I was 15/Boy 17. Second best, 18/Boy 18. Third best, 40/Man 40.
No clear results. But, I also think kissing is one of the more subjective aspects of sex. I mean, everyone hates bumping teeth, but some people go for the porny-tongue thrust (no thanks) while others prefer teasing, scenting, softness first (yes please).
God, do I love kissing.

2. Giving Head (again, I refuse to call this cunnilingus)
Best: Giver was 35/I was 40, Second best: Giver was 28 (boy in the story above)/I was 40. Third Best: Hmm, not sure. These two were so far and away better than anyone else that it’s hard to pick a third. Maybe the guy I dated when I was 22? He was about 28.
It looks like no clear results, but even the mediocre performances from my current wave of partners far exceeds anything decent from when I was young. Takeaway? Successfully licking pussy takes a lot of practice.

3. Fingers
Best: Giver was 25,  I was 19 or 20. This guy had magic hands and no-one else has ever come close. But again, mediocre performers these days are better than the mediocre performers of my youth.

4. Other non-penetrative sex moves
ie touching other parts of body, being attentive, anything else that falls under being a good lover.

And once again, mediocre partners today are much much much better than the mediocre partners of my youth.

5. Doing the Bill Clinton (aka PIV sex moves)
Best: Him 40/Me 40 (what a relief it is to find out that I didn’t have my best sex at 18), Second Best: Him 38, me 40, Third: Him 18/Me 18.

Overall I think the list above reflects both age, and chemistry. There are really only 8 lovers called out on the above ranking (a lot of repeats), about 25% of my total sex partners. If I subtract out the chemistry factor, older guys are clearly better.

I mention my analysis to one of my partners who then reveals that he lost his virginity shockingly late in life. However, he’s had a significant number of partners, so I suppose he’s made up for experience in volume, vs. years.
